Description: On June 4, 1938, Dave Gross, standing, presented an antique silver mustache cup to his old friend Police Sergeant Jim Dew, remembering days past when handle-bar mustaches were popular. Mr. Gross, who lived in San Francisco, still had many friends in Tacoma from the 1890s when he and his brothers owned the Gross Brothers Department Store at 901 Broadway. (T. Times, 6/10/1938, p.14).
